In high school, a teacher advisor invited Nobuhito Tomooka to join the Japanese drum club (wadakiko). His encounter with this instrument was actually an encounter with destiny. Also at the age of 16 he began to practice, as a self-taught person, a Japanese stringed instrument called the shamisen.
Currently, he performs with the Japanese Renpu unit as his main activity. In addition, he carries out various activities such as: independent concerts, performances abroad, orientation to wadaiko groups, collaboration with dancers, drummers and performances in temples as musical offerings. It is developing a wide variety of activities without being pigeonholed into any particular genre.
In recent years, in collaboration with Blue Hearts drummer Tetsuya Kajiwara, he has been performing all over Japan.Back to programme
